Clarence Jey – President
Clarence Jey is a record producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and songwriter who has had music on US Top 100 Billboard charts, Grammy winning Record and Emmy TV.
As a third generation classical pianist, young Jey initially grew up in the Australian Entertainment Industry performing with local bands and composing/producing music at his studio in Melbourne, Australia. This led to Clarence Jey producing Australian Pop/Rap duo “Soul Class”, which was signed by Australia’s largest Independent Record Label, Mushroom Records. As a young adult, he blended his love of Music and Television to co-create the Theme song for 2008 US Emmy winning animation Television Show, “Growing up Creepie”. This success led to his relocation to the heart of the world’s entertainment capital, Los Angeles, California.
Soon after, he was instrumental in one of the largest internet viral sensations in history, “Friday”, by Rebecca Black, which resulted in over 200 Million YouTube hits. He co-wrote and produced/engineered the controversial song, which hit the US Billboard Top 100 and iTunes Top 20 in March 2011, referred to as “Genius” by music executive, Simon Cowell. “Friday” was also covered on various TV shows, including the cast of Fox network’s smash hit show “Glee”, that resulted in the Glee version of “Friday” landing on US Billboard Top 100 as well as iTunes Top 10. In 2013, Jey gained additional historical notoriety with US Late Night host Jimmy Fallon’s 2nd album “Blow Your Pants Off”, featuring “Friday”, as performed by Fallon and Stephen Colbert – an record with a high profile rock star line up including Sir Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen – won 2013 Grammy. Clarence Jey has also worked with a number of independent and signed artists and writer/producers such as Cindy Santini (US Fontana/Universal), Delious Kennedy (All-4-One), Mick Walsh (Adventures of Stevie V), Samantha Lombardi (Rafelson Media), Richie Kotzen, Jesse Shatkin (Kelly Clarkson, Pink) and Herbie Crichlow (Grammy for Backstreet Boys).
Alexa Brinkschulte – Artist Marketing
Alexa manages a wide range of tasks ranging from coordinating of the artistic projects to interaction with promotion and distribution to ensure the communications and delivery reflect the vision of the company. Originally from Bremen, Germany, Alexa is an accomplished drummer with qualifications from Los Angeles Music Academy in Pasadena, CA as well as Berkley College of Music in Boston, MA.
Alexa has performed extensively with many international acts including appearances on various television networks. With her keen interest in online viral marketing, advertising and brand awareness, Alexa was co-instrumental in the viral success campaigns of teen artists such as Rebecca Black and Alana Lee. In addition to working for Music Intersection, she is currently in the process of getting a Masters Degree in Internet Marketing.
Phil Woodward – Composer/Guitarist/Instructor
As a prolific Guitarist and Musician, Phil has had the opportunity to work with the likes of Timothy B. Schmit (The Eagles), Paul Stanley (KISS), Susan Sarandon (actress), Rob Morrow (actor), Sinbad (Comedian), Vanna White, Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses) and many more. As a composer and Phil had success with Video Game Awards for Spike TV (intro w/Samuel L. Jackson) as well as recordings for rock band “Sahara” (Polydor/Dream Circle).
Phil is a graduate of Musicians Institute and has also completed Music Theory and Piano studies at Rio Hondo College. He has also been blessed to have had private instruction studying with guitarist/musician Carlos de la Paz 1979 – 1983. As an Instructor, Phil has over two decades of experience. He has fined-tuned his skills and art of teaching to a level that will help every guitar oriented artist or student to achieve their full potential. His immense knowledge and passion for the guitar style of the great Jimi Hendrix led him to give a three-day Master Class Seminar focussing on these elements.
Barry Wayne – Creative Producer
After graduating from college in 2001, Barry moved to Los Angeles from Indiana to find opportunities to work in film, television, music and photography. Soon after, he would discover that his primary creative strength was in photography, whilst under the guidance of the President of Talent at Gersh Agency (now President of talent at ICM). He would pursue this with enormous dedication and enthusiasm, which would result in his published works in Teen Vogue, People Magazine, Ok Magazine, Hollywood Reporter, MSN News, Teen.com, Now Justin Bieber.com, Console Digest, Live Journal.com, Mix Redding.com, Jollobuzz.com, Bud and Tigerbeat.com, Music Ko.com, Examiner and many more.
As the former creative director at Ark Music Factory, Barry was co-instrumental in the internet viral success of teen sensation Rebecca Black as well as coordinating the media buzz surrounding the event. His photographs of the artist alone took the world by storm and was published multiple times. During his stint at Ark, he provided leadership and
direction for the creative team. Barry worked alongside the music and video production teams to develop the artists and showcasing their talents to the masses.
Consistently pushing for innovation, Barry has the ability to see beyond the expected or average solution, intuitively and logically. In his creative, Barry strives to see beyond tomorrow with a realistic balance of what is possible and appropriate for today.
Steve McLeod
A&R / Producer / Strategic Marketing (Hong Kong/Australia)
Steve, a Songwriter, Producer, and Multi-Instrumentalist, grew up in Australia to a musical family. A graduate from Musician Institute in Los Angeles, Steve released his debut solo album “Human Uniform” in 2009 to critical acclaim most notably in the U.S, Netherlands and Japan. His second album is set for release early 2012.
Steve has written for Emmy Award winning television and co-wrote ‘Beautiful Life’ with Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr.Big) released on Richie’s acclaimed “Wilson Hawk” album. Steve brings to Music Intersection, his many years of experience and education in the fields of strategic marketing and music content promotion, along with his personal networks in Asia/Australia.
